Srinagar, May 19: Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, said non-implementation of the Goods and Services Tax in Jammu and Kashmir would go against the interests of the state.
“Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has a right to take a decision on it. Those who oppose will be unfortunate, because the consumers have to pay double tax—first on inputs then on final products,” he said.
He claimed that if GST was not implemented, consumers in the state would not get input credit.
“Non-implementation of GST is against the interests of JK.”
