Over 20 passengers injured in Wadoora Sopore accident


Sopore : At least twenty passengers suffered injuries after a mini-bus in which they were travelling overturned at Wadoora area of Sopore on Monday morning.

According to reports, an overloaded mini-bus with bearing registration number JK05/6162 left  Yaroo Handwara and was going towards Sopore met with an accident at Wadoora when the driver lost control over speed and the bus turned turtle in which more than 20 passengers received injures,

All the injured passengers were rushed to sub-district Hospital Sopore where from six have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

The referred persons identified have been identified as Rafeeqa Begum, Raja Begum,Hafeeza Begum, Ruqaya Bano, Firdous Ahmed and Khursheed Ahmed.

BMO Sopore told The Kashmir Monitor that six passengers including four females we referred to SMHS Srinagar for special treatment as their condition was critical. Further added that rest of the passengers received minor injuries and have been treated here only.

However police visited the spot and a case in this regard has been registered.
